One True Friend (running time 22 minutes)

Diana has head lice and is afraid that Anne will quit being her friend. Anne tells Diana that she would be her friend no matter what. A mean-spirited Felicity eavesdrops on Diana's conversation with Miss King and learns that Diana has headlice. Felicity then tells the other school children and the children shun Diana. Felicity is decorating for a party and invites Anne, but doesn't invite Diana. Without thinking very hard, Anne accepts Felicity's invitation and hurts Diana's feelings. Diana becomes upset with Anne and doesn't speak to her until Anne apoligizes. Anne learns a secret that Felicity is hiding and when Felicity is about to make a wrong decision, Anne and Diana stop her.

Babysitting Blues

Gilbert wants to earn money to buy a tripod and asks Mrs. Lynde if he can watch Timmy while Rachel goes to a tea. Rachel tells Gilbert no, but after some convincing, Anne gets Rachel to let Gilbert watch Timmy on the condition that Anne will stay to help Gilbert. For a while, Gilbert and Anne are at their wits end, but they soon learn what it takes to keep Timmy happy. Diana comes and asks Anne if she wants to go to the tea, and after some thinking and encouraging, Anne agrees. Because Anne and Diana are "hiding" they overhear Rachel say that she wouldn't have let Gilbert watch Timmy if Anne hadn't have been there with him. Anne and Diana then sneak back to Green Gables.

Carrots

After Gilbert teases Anne about having red hair, Anne is determined to change her hair color. Anne observes Marilla using a lemon to get rid of a stain. Anne then tries to change her hair color with lemons, but isn't successful. On the way home from school, Anne and Diana meet a peddler. Anne buys shampoo that is supposed to turn her hair brown. Unfortunately, the dye doesn't work and it turns Anne's hair green. Marilla is upset with Anne and points out to her that is what happens when you become vain. After talking to the imaginary dryad, Anne learns to accept her hair color and be proud of it.

The Stray

During a thunderstorm, a stray dog takes shelter in the barn. Anne finds the dog and wants to keep it. Marilla tells Anne no, and Matthew helps Anne make found posters. While walking back home after putting posters up, Peg Bowen tells Anne who the owners are. By this time, Anne has become fond of the dog and doesn't want to give him back. When Anne sees how miserable the dog is and begins to think clearly, she writes the McGuffins a letter informing them that she found their dog.

The Best Partner

Anne is asked to come up with creative ideas for the annual kids competition. Anne's idea is to include things that were done in the original Olympics. Some of the children attempt doing them, but injure themselves. Anne then has to come up with ways so that there are enough kids to enter.

A Question of Rules

Because the school children begin questioning why there are rules, Miss King assigns them an essay on rules. Miss King doesn't give them any guidelines, and Anne is angry. The quest for the golden crown is to take place on the day that farmers burn the fields and the children are told to stay out of the woods. Because the children are rebelling agains the rules, they do not heed the rules and Felix gets lost.

Taffy

The Avonlea Cornfield fair takes place and Anne and Felicity are competing for the best taffy. Anne, who is too proud to taste her taffy before submitting it, loses the ribbon because she accidentally used salt instead of sugar. Anne is convinced that Felicity purposely sold her salt. After the patriarch willows falsely accuses Anne of stealing the bees' honey, Anne realizes that she made a similar mistake when she convinced everyone that Felicity purposely sold her salt instead of sugar.
