This is a very pretty book. There are photographs from many of Sullivan shows as well as scenery shots and rarely seen production stills. The book is split into four sections and each section as four chapters. The titles of the four sections are the names of the four seasons. Each chapter takes a different focus on the season.
For most of the chapters Kevin Sullivan will take a filming location, talk about it, and then tell what was filmed at the location.
The book is extremely interesting and very informative about the filming locations. There aren't tons of words on a page, so the book doesn't take too long to read- but then everyone that knows me is laughing at that. Someone has described my reading abilities as “plowing through”. ~laughs~
At the end of each section there are many recipes. I haven't used any of the recipes because they aren't my style of food. I'm all for the simple foods like grilled cheese and French fries. I'm sure the recipes are really good. Some of the desserts sounded as good as their names were as hard to pronounce. ~grins~
If you're a fan of Avonlea and would like to know more about the filming locations, I think that you will really enjoy the book.
