Season Two

1) Sara's Homecoming *** (Running Time 46 minutes)

After accidentally setting off the fireworks for Dominion Day, Sara decides that she should return to Montreal. An accident at a warehouse kills Blair, and Sara returns to Avonlea. Peter attempts to cheer Sara up by taking her to a circus that is town. Sara takes Peter up on his offer. While at the circus Sara sees a tent that says that Isis can let people speak to the dead. She takes the bait and enters. Sara is able to see a glimpse of her father before the “magic” exhausts itself. Isis tells Sara to return with more money- and she does, but is kidnapped by Isis and her partner. A worried Alec follows Sara's clues and discovers where the kidnappers are hiding Sara.

2) How Kissing Was Discovered ****** (Running Time 45 minutes)

Great Aunt Eliza finally comes for a visit and an ill Janet tries her best to keep Eliza happy. Felix and Sara meet Gus Pike while fishing and take him to King Farm. While Gus is waiting for the cannery to open, Alec lets him stay as a handy man at King Farm. Felicity decides that thirteen and three-quarters is grown up and “falls in love” with the cricket player, David Hawes. Because both Janet and Alec are not feeling well, Felicity sneaks out to go to the dance at White Sands. When Sara tells Felicity that it isn't safe for her to be out alone, Gus says “It outta be safe wid me!”. When Alec discovers that Felicity is missing, he raises off to the dance and brings Felicity home- but not before Felicity “disgraces” herself.

3) Aunt Hetty's Ordeal ****** (Running Time 47 minutes)

Because Hetty's school rival is coming for a visit, Hetty visits the cannery to find new students. Of all the “hooligans” at the cannery only Gus comes to school. Hetty appreciates Gus's wanting to learn how to be a gentleman and helps him all she can- but she takes Gus's beloved fiddle away. While Sara and Olivia are bringing Miss Stacey to Rose Cottage, Hetty injures herself and Miss Stacey takes over the school until Hetty is able to teach. After an unfortunate fire at the cannery, Gus quites going to school. Hetty is furious, but Miss Stacey shows Hetty that she made a mistake. Even after Hetty tells Gus that she was wrong, Gus still refuses to play his violin. Miss Stacey then takes matters into her own hands and organizes a tribute to Miss King.

4) Of Corsets and Secrets and True True Love *** (Running Time 47 minutes)

A distant relative of Marilla's dies and Marilla takes in her relative's children, Davy and Dora, until their uncle can take them. Rachel Lynde, who has a toothache, is convinced that she will die and arranges her funeral affairs. Rachel's toothache keeps her angry and she can not get along with Davy. After Sara and Olivia accidentally add fuel to the fire, Rachel leaves Green Gables and lives at Biggins' Boarding House. Once Rachel gets her tooth pulled she begins to see things differently.

5) Old Quarrels Old Love ***** (Running Time 44 minutes)

An enraged Hetty decides to give a motor car driver a piece of her mind and discovers that the motor car driver is her “old” beau, Romney Penhallow. Hetty refuses to speak to Romney, but makes up at a wedding. Romney and Hetty spend some time together and Romney teaches Hetty to drive the motor car- much to the shock of Felix. When Romney leaves the island without a warning Hetty becomes angry Romney and not until she learns the truth does she forgive him.

6) May the Best Man Win **** (Running Time 46 minutes)

Edwin Clark, who was Olivia's “old” beau, returns to Avonlea for a visit and begins calling on Olivia again. Hetty has been trying to get Olivia to stay away from Jasper and welcomes Edwin back and encourages Olivia to begin courting him. Sara thinks that Olivia would get along much better with Jasper and even goes as far as getting a magic love potion. Olivia has trouble deciding on whom to marry, but when an accident happens she is able to choose.

7) Family Rivalry *** (Running Time 45 minutes)

When Roger King, Andrew's father, returns to Avonlea for a visit Hetty begins to organize a large party for him. To impress his father, Andrew begins a rock collection but is disappointed when Roger tells Andrew that he doesn't have the time to look at them. Alec and Roger have never gotten along, and Hetty's doting on Roger begins to get on Alec's nerves and Roger's telling Alec how to run the farm does not help matters.

8) Sea Ghost *** (44 minutes)

When Ezekiel Crane offers a hard working Gus a job and a place to stay, Gus accepts. There have been rumors in town about rum runners in Avonlea and Ezekiel Crane is suspected to be helping them. Abner Jeffries, the constable, tells the children to keep their eyes open for “mysterious happenings” and when the King children and Sara witness a fight in the grave yard the townspeople are stirred to action.

9) All That Glitters *** (Running Time 45 minutes)

While Sara is helping Ezekiel Crane and Gus stack fire wood she finds a gold coin. Because there used to be privateers near the coast of Avonlea Gus, Sara, and Felicity believe that there is a hidden treasure chest. A mysterious stranger comes to town and asks if Captain Ezekiel Crane is rich and is relieved to hear that he isn't. When Captain Crane learns that Borden is in town he asks Gus to take a quick peak at Borden's treasure map. Gus does so and helps Ezekiel find the map, and a near tragedy occurs.

10) Dreamer of Dreams ***** (Running Time 46 minutes)

To while away the winter days Sara and Felicity begin making their own newspaper. They write many interesting columns, including an advice column about people in Avonlea. Mr. Tyler has business in Carmody and leaves Olivia in charge of the newspaper. Olivia is determined to show a jealous Mr. Pinker that she can do the job, but when Sara and Felicity's advice column is printed in the newspaper it creates quite a stir. The Avonlea Chronicle is robbed and Mr. Pinker lays the blame on Olivia. Olivia is determined clear her name, but needs the help of an unsure Jasper.

11) It's Just a Stage * (Running Time 46 minutes)

When Pat Frewen learns that the “love of his life” Pigeon Plum is coming to Avonlea, he becomes excited. He learns that Sara is Pigeon's cousin and asks Sara for advice on how to court. Sara, who thinks that Pat is referring to Theodora Dix, eagerly gives Pat her advice. Pigeon is amused that a lowly pig farmer is interested in her and laughs in Pat's face. A disgusted Sara points out to Pigeon that everything is not a stage and people do have feeling.

12) A Mother's Love ***** (Running Time 45 minutes)

Rollings Reliable is sponsoring an essay contest for Mother of the Year and Sara, much to Felicity's shock, decides to write about Aunt Hetty. Felicity does her best to stop Sara from mailing the letter and succeeds. Sara decides that Felicity needs to be brought down a peg and Felix readily agrees to the idea. When Sara hears Janet and Clara talking about Felicity and Sally being born on the same day and at the very same time and at the very same place, Sara schemes a plan to tell Felicity that she was switched at birth.

13) Misfits and Miracles ****** (Running Time 46 minutes)

When three men on the Avonlea Avengers are injured, Archie Gillis searches for three more men. Archie refuses to let Felix and Andrew try out because they are not taller than the mark. Peg Bowen, who is angry with Archie, tries out for the team and makes Archie look for a fool. When Alec remarks that someone could make a good team out the “misfits” Archie challenges Alec to a game. During a practice Alec trips and strains his back and is unable to coach the team. Muriel Stacey, who has been trying to get Hetty to bring physical education into the school, says that she will coach the team under the condition that if the Avengers win Hetty must begin “teaching” physical education, but if the Avengers lose Hetty does not need to “teach” physical education.
